Swimming and Diving Teams

    The Cypress Creek Swimming and Diving Teams were reestablished in August 1998.  The teams compete in the Orlando, Florida, Metro Conference(East Section), District 3 Class 3A, Region 1 Class 3A, and Class 3A for the State Swimming & Diving Championships.
   The Aqua Bears, like other sports teams offered at Cypress Creek High School, are composed of student athletes striving for excellence in academics as well as athletics.  This season the girl's team received a Silver Level Team Scholar Award with a GPA of 3.663, and the boy's GPA was 3.38. The swim team is fortunate to have had (1998-2007), 20 Academic All-Americans, 3 U.S. Navy Scholastic All-Americans, 2 All-American Swimmers, 5 All-American Swimmer consideration times, 27 Florida State Swimming and Diving Championship finalists, 65 Florida State Swimming and Diving Championship qualifiers, 1 Regional Champion, 22 District Champions, 11 Metro Conference Champions, and 20 All Orange County Swimming and Diving Team members. 
   Cypress Creek has a girl's and boy's Junior Varsity Team, that trains the younger swimmers in the techniques necessary to move up and strengthen the varsity team.
   Coach Tom Nielsen, is experienced in working with  swimmers, and motivating them to their fullest potential.
